4 Stars (RAW Rating: 3.5) - The Boy Is Mine
Tall and beautiful, Gemma Williams possesses mad skills on the basketball court but she is unlucky in love off the court. All the guys she agrees to date turn out to be losers. She enlists the help of her best friend, Maria who encourages her to join a hot new dating site for teens called Boy Shopping. After signing up and finding four matches, Gemma’s hilarious adventures in dating begins.
The concept of LIKE THIS AND LIKE THAT is cute because the book is interactive and the reader controls the outcome of the story. With this being the second installment of the Boy Shopping series, the story does well as a standalone. The characters are your typical teenagers who deal with premarital sex, underage drinking and interracial dating. Stephen’s writing style is very simplistic which will keep the attention of young readers. Adults as well as teens can easily enjoy this one.

5 Stars Two Thumbs Up For the No. 2 Novel
I really enjoyed this book. I liked it a little more than the first one and it was a great read. A lot of teenage girls could probabbly relate to this. Nia Stephens really knows what she’s doing and she’s doing it VERY well, I might add!!

Romantic thriller!

What’s a homicide detective to do when tracking down a female serial killer who targets her victims via online dating sites? In Gibson’s breezy, formulaic new romance set in Boise, Idaho, said detective—handsome Quinn McIntyre—logs online and goes out on numerous first dates until he pinpoints the woman wacko enough to have committed the crimes. So begins the relationship between Quinn and Lucy Rothschild, a well-educated, 30-something professional who fits the killer’s profile. Quinn isn’t the only one with an agenda, however. Lucy, a mystery writer, is doing research for her next novel, which coincidentally features a female serial killer and Internet dating. Mutual lust impedes both Quinn and Lucy’s plans, and miscommunication and the real serial killer serve as speed bumps on their path to love. While Gibson’s fast-paced romp is mildly entertaining, her flimsy plot doesn’t hold up to scrutiny, and her protagonists—the capable detective who’s married to his work and the smart female who’s been burned by a parade of Mr. Wrongs—never grow beyond their prescribed roles. 5 Stars Great Book
This was my first Rachel Gibson book I ever read. I got it as a present for my birthday and first I was not very eager to read it. But after a while it kind of fall into my hands again and I started the book. And from that second I was under the spell of Rachel Gibson and her romance novels. I have to admit that I am a very romantic person and romantic poems or books get me very easily. But with the stories of Rachel Gibson there is more to it, than just that.
The way she writes, the way she depicts the characters and the story is in my opinion unique in comparrison to other authors. I have read all her books by now (in the moment reading the newest one) and even though I have to admit that the story and the way of the characters is unsually very similar in each book, she succeds in enthuse the reader simply with her writing talent. Her funny, interesting way of writing makes her books a joy to read and in my case it makes me ignore that many of her books do not vary very much in concern of the stories and the outcome in the end.
Concerning Sex Lies and Online Dating I can say, that this is the first of so far four books. It covers the story of one of four women authors struggeling to find the right man in there lifes. While Lucy is writing one of her new mystery novels she digs into the life of online dating and accidently starts to fall for a man named Quinn who in true life is an undercover cop suspecting her to be a serial killer. While going on dating both very soon find it hard, to forget about the other and the already twisted and turned story adds another twist as Quinn starts to have problems parting his personal feelings from his work.
In my opinion Rachel Gibson is a very good author writing funny, interesting, romance novels. And even though some my not want to read more that one book by her, because they may find it boring, I suggest, that at least one book should be read and for this I suggest the one, which was also my very first: Sex, Lies and online Dating.
5 Stars My favorite of the series
Loved this one! I read them totally out of order (4th, 3rd, then 1st & 2nd), but it really didn’t matter. I liked that this one had a small suspenseful plot to it (whereas the others did not). I definitely recommend this one!
